Show HOLDS RARE COIN. Back in Stoughton, Mass., comes the report that Walter Robinson, while plowing in his field, uncovered a big United 'States penny, dated in the year 18-10. Coin experts, who examined ex-amined the penny after it had been buried in soil that had not been tilled for a period of 40 years, marveled at the find. 'Right here in Sanpete county, coun-ty, and to be more explicit, in the garden of E. J. Mellor at Fayette, a record that puts, the eastern "discovery" "dis-covery" in the shade, has just been revealed by Mr. Mellor. While'work-1 ing in his garden three years ago, Mr. j Mellor uncovered a Swedish copper com that was minted in the year 1829, making it 103 years old. The Mellor coin was minted during the reign of Charles XIV and all marks are plainly visible, indicating it had been circulated but little. |
