Huge rocks and piles of smaller ones have been cleared away. Permission to use city water for gardens has given further impetus to this project. A group of 17 to 20 year old Columbia girls have joined a foods club where they will prepare low-cost foods in attractive ways and still preserve the food value. lVinonstrations will be given by these g;r!s to the local adults. The trip emphasized an interest in extension service work, a desire to learn the best method at least cost, a desire to get the underprivileged into groups for self-helf, and an attitude at-titude of optimism with a desire to get the most out of what is on hand, i Miss Davidson said. |
