Show 'Arbor Day Is Set For Next Saturday , Governor II. II. Blood has just issued is-sued a proclamation, setting aside i Saturday, April 15, as Arbor day in Utah, and the executive has asked : that all Utah join in observing this day in seme worthy cause .towards adding beauty by planting trees, shrubbery, and making the homes b'-autiful. Schools, Parent-Teacher organizations, or-ganizations, civic clubs, Boy Scouts and churches are expected to join in the state-wide movement. While in Cunnison no set plan has been made; for tree planting, the day will be generally set uside in making improvements about the homes, such as garden or flower planting and cleaning premises. Governor Blood's pi eelamation follows: "Again has come the season of the year when all nature is rejuvenated; re-juvenated; when trees and shrubs Mid flowers awaken from the long death-like sleep of winter and burst forth into new life, arousing in the breast of mankind la'ent emotions of faith and hope, and spurring all living creatures to renewed activity. It is the season sea-son when Mother Nature replaces the drab garb of winter with one of verdant hue, and seeks in every way pr.ssible to conceal the ugly and unsightly. "Effoits of men should be coordinated co-ordinated with those of nature in beautifying the landscape. To. this end trees, shrubs, vines and flowers, should be planted profusely. pro-fusely. It is fitting and proper that one day each year should be devoted to this purpose. "Now, therefore, I, Henry II. Blood, governor of Utah, pursuant pursu-ant to law, do hereby set aside and proclaim Saturday, April 15, as Arbor day, and urge that appropriate ap-propriate exercises be conducted on that date and that all citizens j and organizations participate in J suitable observance of the oc- casion."
