A growing interest among farmland farm-land owners in reforesting their idle cres and in maintaining the productiveness produc-tiveness of their existing woodlands is evidenced by the annual increase 'n the number of young trees distributed distri-buted by the cooperating states. Last -car nearly 29 000.000 state grown trees, and an additional number purchased pur-chased from commercial nurseries ore used by farmers in planting more than 31,000 acres. A million more trees were planted ' on farm tends in 1928 than in 1927. |
