Show Fifty More Needed For Kindergarten "The quota for the summer kindergarten kin-dergarten school in Gunnison, which is to open for a six week's term June 11, is far from being filled. Thu3 far only thirty pupils have been registered and it is necessary to v have at least fifty more. Without " the fullest cooperation of parents of " Gunnison it will be impossible to hold the school this season." Thus spoke a member of the committee to a News man. Continuing the member mem-ber of the committee deplored the condition as it now prevailed and impressed the fact of the importance of the school. There are many eligibles of the pre-school age that certainly need the preliminary training at the kindergarten kin-dergarten school in preparation of entering the grade school, and parents par-ents should not only appreciate the efforts of those who are endeavoring to maintain the school, and should get back of the movement and give cooperation to the fullest extent. Throughout Utah and the west the schools are boosted by parents and others interested in higher education educa-tion and the kindergarten classes and training are going over big, and the same conditions should prevail in Gunnison. The school last year in Gunnison was a splendid success and the benefits gained for the little students through the schol was highly high-ly beneficial when they entered the school. Some complaint has been entered as to the cost. No parent can oppose op-pose a charge of $3 for the six Week's training. By careful study the cost has been brought down to the minimum and it can be regarded as " very cheap. Then the school serves many purposes. It prepares the child to enter the grade school,' it keeps them from loitering on the streets and it gives them a training that is essential if they are to re- j ceive the higher knowledge that is necessary to go into the world as operators of the big industries in. the fields of finance and commerce. There are yet a few days in which to register your children, parents. Don't delay the matter, but call upon up-on Mrs. Ira Overfelt or Mrs. C. E. I and register the names of the eligibles eli-gibles in your family. Kep the kindergarten kin-dergarten movement alive and1 let it be known in the outside world that Gunnison citizens believe in higher education and favor a kindergarten kinder-garten school. |
