Show Work Progressing OnNewWardChapel Progress on erecting the new Gunnison Gun-nison ward chapel is going ahead in fine shape, and only for the rains during the first of the week was real work stopped for a few hours. With the foundation in place, masons have started on raising the walls with an attractive colored brick, and this work is being hurried along by a large force of laborers. Supervisors, who are attending to the building of the chapel, are rushing matters and it is hoped to have the roof completed complet-ed over the structure by the middle of July. Thus far, 110 people have either contributed in work on the chapel or donated cash, and notwithstanding the depression, it is believed that the church will be completed on schedule time. The benefit show given at the Casino last Thursday and Friday, resulted re-sulted in a net gain for the building fund of $54.00. Several little children, eager to see the chapel hurried to completion, have contributed their mite and the committee is highly grateful, not only to the elders, but to the children, for the funds already donated. The building committee, too, highly appreciates the splendid work done by those who would work out their contributions. The obligations made necessary for the erection of the chapel, according to announcement, are practically met, and little of the debt incurred at the starting remains to be paid. |
