EDWARDS Mayfield Crew On Victory Trip Mayfield's fast ball team, comprising compris-ing some r'eal actors on the diamond, romped home Sunday with two hard-fought hard-fought victories tucked under their belts. The crew of players paid a visit to Emery county for a two-game series. ser-ies. The first game, played Friday afternoon, was with the Emery team and resulted in a victory for Mayfield by a score of 12 to 5. The Emery bunch was out for a victory, but was outclassed by the boys from Mayfield. Ferron proved easy for the May-field May-field gang at the game played Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. In the nine innings the Sanpete boys scored 18 runs, while the Ferronites could only send 6 across the home plate. The May-field May-field boys comprise some classy players play-ers and through the season have made a wonderful showing. Among the players are Orlin Hansen, Han-sen, catcher; Clint Christensen and Orrin Whitlock, pitchers; Ken Whit-lock, Whit-lock, 1st base; Leon Christensen, 2nd base; Ivan Hansen, 3rd base; Hugh Halverson, short stop. Howard Larson, Lar-son, Lester Hansen and Lamar Anderson An-derson occupy the field positions. While on the trip the Mayfield boys were royally entertained and dances were given each evening following the baseball contests. |
