Miss Vio Sorenson, who has valuable,, valu-able,, property interests in Gunnison, find Miss Jessie Duncan, came down front Salt Lake Friday and remained untif Sunday. Both Miss Sorenson and Miss Duncan are prominent in educational educa-tional circles at the capital city. Mrs. John M. Knighton was hostess to twelve members of the Royal Neighbors lodge at her home Saturday Satur-day afternoon from two to five. Progressive Pro-gressive bridge was played and Mrs. N. L. Hermansen won first prize, Mrs. L. G. Anderson, second, and guest j prize was awarded to Mrs. Ray B. I Metcalf. Pansies were used as decorations decora-tions and favors at the small tables when luncheon was served at five. Mrs. Hart J. Sanders and children spent Sunday at Richfield as the guests of relatives. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Roper delightfully delight-fully entertained for 16 friends at cards Sunday evening. Following a lively game of progressive bridge and solo, the guests enjoyed a delicious plate luncheon. A. H. Christensen, of Provo, was looking after legal matters in Gunnison Gunni-son this week. Mr. Christensen was representing a number of land owners in the hearing of the settlement of the South Sanpete Drainage district. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Edwards and children made a flying trip to Salt Lake Saturday. They left here early in the morning and completed the round trip.. They were combining business bus-iness with pleasure. Mrs. Therus Sorenson, entertained complimentary to her daughter, Miss Beverly Sorenson, Friday. It was Beverly's Bev-erly's fourth birthday anniversary and many little friends were invited to celebrate the occasion. Following a big time at romping and games, dainty refreshments were served by Mrs. Sorenson. Mrs. Grace Curtis, Miss Ardys Curtis Cur-tis and Morris Curtis, were here from Salina the first of the week and were the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Melroy Peterson. Mrs. Archie Sorenson, who spent some three weeks visiting with her son, Orlando- Whiting, and family, at Weiser, Ida., returned to her home in Gunnison Monday. Mrs. Archie Buchanan of Center-field, Center-field, as an honored guest at the Archie Sorenson home Monday afternoon after-noon of this week. It was Mrs. Buchanan's Bu-chanan's birthday anniversary and a delightful social time was enjoyed. At five o'clock a delicious hot dinner was served to the guests. Nate Willmore, who recently took ever the Gunnison Bakery and cafe, motored to Eureka Sunday and visited visit-ed with his family. Just as soon as the Eureka schools close, Mr. Will-more Will-more will remove his family to Gunnison. Gun-nison. Joe Kearns of Salt Lake, and Mayor May-or Horace Brown of Manti, both representing rep-resenting Boston wool buyers, spent Monday in Gunnison. The visitors were conferring with local sheepmen sheep-men relative to purchase of the spring clip. |
