Through a demoralized organization, organiza-tion, resulting in the loss of players at the time most needed, and short of a pitching staff, the Gunners went through the first half of the play of the Southern Utah league badly crippled, crip-pled, and ended by resting in the cellar, cel-lar, having won one game and lost seven. Their last show was with Scipio on the local diamond last Sunday, when the visitors took the game by the close score of 15 to 14. There was plenty of hitting and plenty of scoring scor-ing on both sides, but Scipio converted convert-ed her 15 runs from 14 hits, while the Gunners swatted the Scipio hurl-ser hurl-ser 18 times for her 14 runs. At the end of the 6th inning the score was tied, 12-all. Scipio added another in the 7th, and the Gunners went into the lead by spotting two on the scoreboard. score-board. Stubbs, catching catch-ing for the Gunners, was the out- standing hitter in Sunday's game. Stubbs faced the pitcher 6 times and got five hits, one a homer, two 2-base hits, and a single.
