Edwards and Master "Bobbie" Edwards, have J returned from a combined business and pleasure trip to Salt Lake. They motored to the capitol city Sunday. Louis Petersen, superintendent of the mechanical departmen t of the Gunnison Valley News, returned Monday Mon-day from a brief visit to his parents at Salt Lake. Louis motored to the capitol city Friday of last week. Mrs. Fred H. Jones was hostess to members of the Bonne Foi club yesterday afternoon from two t five o'clock. An interesting reading by Mrs. T. M. Kearns, needlecraft and delicious refreshments proved interesting inter-esting diversions. Mrs. Newell Hofheins and son, Jack Hofheins, and Mrs. Earl Holmsted and children, came in from American Fork the first of the week for a ten-day ten-day visit with friends. The visitors accompanied Mrs. Hofheins and Mrs. Belle McKenna who were at American Amer-ican Fork. J. II. Chew went to Springville yesterday and from there he will continue con-tinue his journey to Jensen, where he has large ranch interests. Mr. Chew will be absent a month or so looking after his stock and farm interests. in-terests. "Bill" Shea of Marysvale, spent last Sunday in Gunnison conferring with Patrick T. Henry, president of the Valdasia Mining company. Mr. Shea reports some activity at the LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST. Last evening Mrs. June Metcalf delightfully entertained for members of the 0. N. 0 club. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Keller of Manti, were in the city Monday of this week. They were combining business busi-ness with pleasure. mining camp and predicts that the coming season will see greater activity activ-ity than ever before. Miss Jauventa Thorpe, of the Gunnison Gun-nison Drug Co., left last Monday for Pocatello, Idaho. Miss Thorpe attended at-tended a two-day session of the district dis-trict convention- of the Intermountain Rexall Druggrsts association, held at the Idaho metropolis Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Following the business sessions an elaborate banquet was served the visiting druggists. Mrs. George Larson and son, returned re-turned last Saturday from a brief visit to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Blixt at Santaquin. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Modeen, Mrs. Andrew Modeen and Miss Julia Modeen, Mo-deen, spent the early part of the week visiting' with friends and relatives rela-tives at Salt Lake and Bingham. Mrs. R. H. Winder who has been the guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jones for several days, returned to her home at Salt Lake this morning. Mrs. R. Q. Dorius and infant son, of Nephi, have returned to their home after spending a week in Gunnison Gun-nison visiting with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Marloe Jensen and family, motored from Provo last Saturday Sat-urday and spent Sunday as the guests of Mr. Jensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Jensen. The R. K. Girls of the Hamilton ward will entertain at a dancing party at the high school auditorium |
