Show Sanpete Farmers In Live Session The semi-annual meeting of the directors of the Sanpete county farm bureau, which was held at Manti last Friday, proved one of the most interesting in-teresting and enhtusiastic held by the members for a long time, according to Chris. A. Peterson, one of the leaders of the organization at Cen-terfield. Cen-terfield. Ten communities were represented rep-resented and altogether there were some thirty-six in attendance at the meeting, fifty per cent of which were women. The members of the state I farm bureau were present and ! throughout the session was marked with a degree of interest. Accompanying Mr. ePterson from this section, was Chas. E. Embley, also enthused in . the farm bureau movement. Following a brief business busi-ness session, M. P. Brown, vice-president of the state farm bureau, made a short address in which he urged a thorough co-operation. The speaker speak-er said that the farm bureau was teaching the gospel of temporal salvation sal-vation and he urged every farmer to get squarely back of his local. Samuel Sam-uel Taylor, a member of the state board of directors, and Shirley Winder, Wind-er, spoke briefly and urged new memberships mem-berships and co-operation in all lines that will lead to the success of the farmers. Mrs. Jensen of the home and community com-munity section, in her short address I stated that women should be one-half one-half of the farm bureau and that women should take just as active ! parts as should the men. Ephraim Bergeson and Attorney Frank Evans both spoke eloquently for the farm bureau organizations throughout the state. Following the adjournment of the state board members the county directors dir-ectors spent considerable time in discussing dis-cussing women's work with special reference to the form of the organization organi-zation of the women in particular. It finally resulted in the appointment appoint-ment of a county committee to handle the women's work for the rest of the summer and plans were inaugurated for the organization for the coming winter. The committee will consist of Mrs. Morgan Winters of Mt. Pleasant ,Mrs. L. D. Larson of May-field, May-field, and Mrs. A. W. Jenson of Ephraim. |
