Show Plans Poster Contest to Aid Training Camps A national "art poster contest in the interest of citizens' military training train-ing camps" is being sponsored by the American Legion auxiliary, it was announced an-nounced recently by Mrs. O. D. Oli-phant, Oli-phant, national president. "The purpose of the contest," declared de-clared Mrs. Oliphant, "is to extend information in-formation concerning and to promote the citizens' military training camps conducted each year in various sections sec-tions of the country." Three national awards will be made. The prizes are to be $150, $100 and $50, respectively. Fourth and fifth-place fifth-place winners will be given honorable mention signed by the committee on naHonal award. Theee five posters will be chosen from designated entries en-tries from the states and territorial possessions of our country. Commenting on the plan, Mrs. Oliphant Oli-phant said: "The auxiliary's sponsorship sponsor-ship is the outcome of its whole-hearted interest in the plans for national defense and the belief that privileges offered by these camps present to the I nation an excellent opportunity for promoting Americanism and for the rearing cf a citizen-soldiery which will serve this nation in time of national na-tional emergency." |
