Mr. and Mrs. George Larson and son, who have been absent in Salt Lake for several months past, have returned to Gunnison and expect to remain here during the winter. Mr. J.aison lias accepted a position at lite sugar factory. ! : Mr. and Mrs. Niel Sorenson, the Misses Belva anil Marjurie Sorenson ; and J. M. Knighton, returned from Salt Lake Monday of this week. They spent several days there and were the guests at the home of Mr. and ; Mrs. C. N. Jensen. Don't fail to hear the Royal Welsh Gleemen. At the Casinoi October 30. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Duggins motored ! to Provo Sunday, having been called there on account of the death of Andrew H. Scott, a relative. Funeral services were held Sunday and Mr. and Mrs. Duggins returned home Sunday night. Mrs. J. A. Ilagan delightfully entertained en-tertained the members of the O.N.O. club last evening at mah jongg. The game proved spirited and the guests were royally pleased. Dainty refreshments refresh-ments were served by the hostess at ten thirty. Ernest Halverson, district representative repre-sentative for the Kansas City Life Insurance company, was here from Provo, his headquarters, several days ihis week. Miss Ethel Jensen, who has been absent at Salt Lake for several months past, attending a business college, has completed her course and Tuesday she, came to Gunnison for a visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Jensen. Mrs. Chas. Thompson, who recently underwent an operation at Salt Lake, went to the city this morning to further fur-ther consult with her physician. Mrs. Thompson is progressing splendidly but on the advice of her doctor will take the final examination. Earl Cook was an auto traveler to Salt Lake this morning. He will be absent several days visiting with his family. The Cook children are at school at the city and Mrs. Cook is spending the winter with them. Eight children underwent operations opera-tions here Monday when Dr. Hagan of this city, and Dr. G. L. Sears of Manti, removed tonsils and adenoids. LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Miss Ruby Christiansen entertained entertain-ed twelve of her little friends Tuesday Tues-day evening at a Hallowe'en party. Games and dancing were enjoyed and at eight o'clock ice cream, cake and candies were served. l William Metcalf and May Metcalf, were motor travelers to northern points Tuesday. They will look after business matters at Salt Lake and Ogden and on their return the last of the week they will be accompanied by Mrs. Metcalf and daughters, who have been at the city for two weeks. I. J. Littrell, with the Mountain States compensating Rating bureau, with headquarters at Denver, spent last Saturday here inspecting the plant of the Gunnison Sugar company. Misses Mary and Helen Hofheins, who have been the guests of their grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Hofheins for the past week, left for their home at Springville Tuesday of this week. A party of eight, invading the home of Mrs. H. P. Jensen, unannounced, unannoun-ced, Tuesday evening, completed a well arranged surprise for Mrs. Jensen. Jen-sen. An impromptu program of cards and a social time until late in the evening when dainty refreshments were served. The doctors were assisted by Mrs. G. D. Peery, local school nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Len Jensen of Center-field Center-field were made happy Monday of this week when a 9-pound baby girl arrived at their home, both mother and daughter are doing fine. - W. M. Wilson, representing the Portland Cement association, with headquarters at Salt Lake, was here Tuesday. Mr. Wilson was just returning re-turning from Richfield where he had been in conference with members of the Richfield Commercial club. Mrs. Ebbe Jessen of Manti, and Mrs. Gail Brooks of Salt Lake, are the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Childs for a week or ten days. Mrs. C. M. Madsen returned yesterday yester-day from a ten day absence at Jerome, Jer-ome, Idaho. Mrs. Madsen was called to the Idaho city on account of the death of her nephew, Miller Christen-sen. |
