Show Mr. and Mrs. Paul Streeper am' son, Jay Paul, left yesterday foi their home at Salt Lake. Tuesday the visitors, with the parents of Mrs Streeper, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Jenser, spent the day at Ephriam canyon enjoying en-joying an outing. H. A. Kearns and J. A. Tuft, veterans vet-erans of the Blackhawk InTHan wars accompanied by Mrs. Kearns anc Mrs. Tuft, left for Ephriam Tuesday of this week. They are enjoying the big encampment that is being helt at the college city this wek. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jones have as their house guests this week, Miss Emma Cahoon of Seattle. Miss Ca-hoon Ca-hoon attended the entertainment given by Dr. and Mrs. Merrill at then home in Provo canyon last Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. R. H. Winder came in from Salt Lake last Saturday and she wil. spend a week or ten days visiting with her daughter. Mrs. J. W. Jones Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hermansen and children were visitors at the Blackhawk Black-hawk encampment at Ephriam Tuesday Tues-day and Wednesday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Folster and Mrs. Leo Gledhill motored to Ephriam Monday of this week. They are combining a visit to relatives and friends and are witnessing the Blackhawk reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Terry of Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, spent several days here this week as the guests of Mayor and Mrs. Parley Christiansen, Dr. George Q. Christensen, wife and two daughters, who are now residing re-siding at Winter Quarters where Dr. Christensen is practcing medicine are in the city for an extendd visit and are the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bn Roper. The Christensen's were former residents of Gunnison. J. W. Jones who is boosting the stockfeeding station for Gunnison Valley, returned yesterday from Salt Lake. Mr. Jones was in conference with Mr. Delume for several days and he reports favorably for the industry. in-dustry. . Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Anderson and Miss LuDeen Christensen returned Sunday evening from a week's visit to Bryce Canyon and other scenic wonderlands in the south. They report re-port a splendid outing and like all others declare the "painted canyon" one of the world's most wonderful scenic attractions. Leo Gledhill, accompanied by his daughter Marie, were visitors ito Ephriam last evening. ' . ... Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Gremsgard and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Anderson were among the visitors from Gunnison to the Blackhawk encampment at Ephriam Eph-riam yesterday. William Metcalf, vice president of the Gunnison Valley bank, was looking look-ing after 'important business matters mat-ters at the capitol city early this week. LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hill and Misa Marie Hill of Salt Lake spent tho early days ofl the week here as the guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Hill. The visitors left yesterday yester-day for Ephriam to witness the big Blackhawk festivities. They erpect to return to their home the last of the week. Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Roper and children, who have resided in Gunnison Gunni-son for many years past, left for Salt Lake last Sunday morning. Mr. Roper expects employment at the city and it is the plan to make Salt Lake their permanent home. They have hosts of warm friends who wish them the best of success in their new location. Andrew Anderson, a pioneer of the Blackhawk Indian wars, is spending spend-ing the week at Ephriam and is celebrating cel-ebrating with his comrades. June and Ray Metcalf, the sheep men, have returned from the capitol city. They spent several days there ' looking after important business matters. Misses Alice Gledhill and Alice Morgan were hostesses to twelve of their friends at a lawn party held at the home of Nephi Gledhill Tues-I Tues-I day evening. Games, music and a good time, followed by delicious refreshments re-freshments were the diversion Jbf the evenng. Mr. and Mrs. Andrev Modeen and Misses Elna and Julia and Lucile , Modeen and Mrs. Frank Taylor were among those from Gunnison attending attend-ing the Blackhawk encampment at Ephriam yesterday. I Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Sorenson I wre among those from Gunnison who visited at Salt Lake this week. They motored to the city last Saturday. Sat-urday. Miss Emma Christensen came in from Salt Lake Saturday and she will be here for two weeks or more visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. Nephi Gledhill. Members of the Boone Foi club were delightfully entertained at the home of Mrs. W. J. Gribble yesterday yester-day afternoon from two thirty to five o'clock. The reading during the needlecraft hour was given by Mrs. Lloyd Anderson. Dainty refreshments were served the guests at five o'clock |
