Show Work Being Rushed On Clarion School Work on th Clarion school building build-ing is being hurried along as fast as possible and if nothing unforseen hap pens two of the rooms wll be ready, or nearly so, by the time the fall term of school "opens next month. Plans have been made for a four-room four-room school building for Clarion, but the school board will not complete the work on the entire structure until the population justifies, deeming the two rooms sufficient to care for the students stu-dents who are now eligible. Just as soon, however, as the numberf of students increase, the completion of the two other rooms will be hurried along. Joseph Larson, school board member from this district stated yesterday that the contractors may be a little late in gettin gthe building in shape for the opening of school this fall, but until the work has been done, students will be carried to Gunnison Gun-nison or Centerfield in the school trucks. Considerable improvements will be made on the Washington school of this city. The toilets, which have been condemned and were a menace to the students last season, are being replaced with new ones. A new roof is also among the improvements at the Washington . school. Due to the fact that finances are low the board has decreed that the fire escapes for the Washington and Centerfield schools could not be included this year on the program. The schools throughout the district dis-trict are all undergoing a thorough cleaning and by the time school opens early in September everything will be in readiness. The roster for the teaching corps for Gunnison "school has not as yet been completed, but it is expected the board will make final decision at the regular meeting meet-ing to be held at Manti Saturday. |
