Show County Pioneer Called to Reward i Mr. and Mis. C. L. Thorpe and members of their family of Axlcll, wen; called to Kphraim Thursday of last, week to attend the last sad rites for Mrs. Marie .K nsen Dorius, mother moth-er to Mrs. C. L. Thorpe. Mis. Dorius was 7(i years years of age and a complication com-plication of iiifii initios and old age is given as the cause of her death. At the services, Bishop P. C. Peterson, Peter-son, Jr., olliciated. Tributes to the life and character of Mrs. Dorius were paid in addresses address-es by C. R. Dorius, .lames II. Hanson, Patriarch Kora of Sandy and liishop Peterson. Music was furnished by the tabernacle choir and Ralph K. Booth and Mrs. P. C. Peterson, Jr., gave special numbers. Mis. Dorius was born in Ilousinge Ilolbeck, Denmark, September 1. IS 17. She joined the Mormon church in 1X115 and ariived in Utah, November Novem-ber 2 ,lHli(i. In the year 1X07 she became be-came the wife of Lewis O'lsen Dorius, now deceased. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom are living. Mrs. Dorius was always an active church worker ami held many responsible positions in the Kphraim South wai'd. During the last two years of her life she was confined to her bed the greater part of the time. The following sons and daughters survive her: Mrs. Julia Thorpe of Axtell, Lewis N. O. Dorius, Mrs. Hannah Han-nah Allied, Charles Dorius and Mrs. Clara Hermanson, all of Kphraim.' |
