Show Fishermen Brave Mountain Perils Seasoned by the experiences of a year ago, when a half dozen alleged mountain-cured fishermen went to ; Daniels canyon and Inst themselves t in the wilds, a portion of the same crowd attempted the same trip at the opening of the fishing season this year and made good. Not only did the fisherboys find their way, but all had plenty of provisions and none had to sleep on the "rocks." Some few mishaps, however, happened that tended to make "fish" stories. The party invading the depness of the unfinished Daniels Canyon, com-i com-i prised such Isaak Waltons as Dr. J. A. Ilagan, Judge C. M. Edwards, Jul-;ius Jul-;ius Dugins, Fred H. Jones and Elmo Storrs. And the fishing was good, according to the self-told stories, the crowd landing almost within the limit ' that the law prescribes. We believe a part of the story because Mr. Jones i furnished prima facie by supplying j the home larder with a half dozen ; speckled beauties. The editor has been asked tp relate a few of the instances and the "home life" of the fishermen while on the trip. So the story goes, Elmo Storrs was anxious, as is his custom for the ! daily bath he got it by taking a plunge in the icy waters, while the snow was falling fast. He was forced to seek the bed while the willing es- 'corts "hung his clothes on a hickory bush, etc." Dr. Hagan, is charge ;with setting an example for the other fishermen by falling down a steep j embankment. Doctor, it is thought wanted some of the boys to do the same, and then maybe a broken bone. j Fred Jones is alleged to have gone to sleep in his bunk and while dreaming dream-ing fell out and rolled down the hill for many feet. No fatalities. Julius Jul-ius Duggins and Attorney Edwards, both seasoned mountaineers, failed with mishaps, but were ladened with ! camp duties, such as cooking and 'dishwashing and caring for the "tenderfeet." I It is understood in relating the ! stories that none of those mentioned I will attempt to institute proceedings against the publisher of the News, t The stories told are said to be true . and nothing but the truth and that the whole bunch landed 483 fish.
