Show OLD-TIME COUNTY RIVALRY REVIVED The contest among counties ot the first class for sweepstake honors at the Utah State Fair, October 1 to 6, will have all its old-time intense rivalry, according to the director ol the horticultural division. Six counties coun-ties will participate in the contest for the Boyd Park silver loving cup, one of the most valued prizes offered at the exposition. They are: Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Weber, Box Elder and Cache. The last-named is back in the exposition after omitting its exhibit for one .year. Careful preparation is already in progress in the construction of booth? and the placing of products. One county began early in August to as semble its varieties. The horticultural horticul-tural exhibits will probably eclipse airy showing ever made at a statf exposition. Many counties will com pete in the second and third divis ions. I A new system of scoring will be j used by the judges this year. It wibj be on a basis of 200 points for rep resentative products, 100 for adequate quantity of each product and 500 foi variety making a possible 800 as the goal. The excellent crop conditions of Utah are said to assure an un usual exhibit of agricultural products this year. |
