Winder and Mrs. W. W. Cassidy, were motor travelers to Salt Lake this morning. Mrs. O. H. Halvcrson went to Salt Luke, the early part of the week. She will be absent a week or more visiting visit-ing with Mr. Halvcrson and her son, Hugh. Mrs. H. W. Cherry entertained at a duck, dinner at her home Sunday evening. Autumn flowers were in profusion as decorations. Covers were laid for fifteen. Saturday afternoon E. C. Collins entertained pt, a children's party in honor of Harold Collins. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by fourteen four-teen boys and girls. The Bluebird girls club gave a demonstration of their summer's work on health at the Relief society hall last Saturday afternoon. Refreshments Re-freshments were served. , Mrs. Sarah Martin left for Idaho cities yesterday morning. She will visit there for a short time and will return to Gunnison before leaving for her home at Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. William Metcalf returned re-turned from Salt Lake Sunday evening. even-ing. They were called to the city to intend the funeral of Jas. Metcalf, Sr., a brother of1 'William Metcalf. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon and was largely attended. C. ' -.-.': A Friday of last 1 week the senior class of the Gunnison Valley high school elected Milton Perkins as their president, Laura Ferre as vice-president, Lucile Beck as secretary and treasurer. Mr. and Mrs. George Francis have returned ' from "Salt Lake. Mrs. Francis,, who went to consult a specialist, is somewhat improved in health and her many friends will be glad to know that an operation will not be necessary at this time. Mrs J. A. Hagan wasjiostess at an anniversary dinner party at her home Monday evening complimentary compliment-ary to Dr. J. A. Hagan and Mrs. J. S. Peterson. Throughout the Hagan home autumn flowers were placed' and the effect was highly pleasing. Dinner was served at six-thirty to twenty-four guests.
