Show WESTERN MANAGERS WILL HOLD ANNUAL CONVENTION Ronald C. Norman, manager for the J. C. Penney company store at Gunnison, accompanied by Mrs. Norman, Nor-man, left for Salt Lake yesterday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Norman will be absent for two weeks or more during dur-ing which time they will combine business with pleasure. The annual convention of the western managers for the Penney company will be held at Salt Lake beginning Saturday and a large attendance is expected. J. C. Penney, founder of the organization and at present chairman of the board of directors, E. C. Sams, president, and J. M. McDonald, merchandise manager, from the main offices, will be present at the convention. Some three days will be spent in executive session at which time the managers will be addressed by the officials and following this the "bunch" will be entertained en-tertained in the usual custom, being served with an elaborate luncheon. Following the executive session the members of the organization will meet with several buyers who will be in Salt Lake from the eastern centers. cen-ters. Practically every manufacturing manufactur-ing concern making goods handled by the J. C. Penney company will come west to meet with the western managers man-agers and considerable time will be consumed in placing orders for the spring and summer goods. |
