Show PHEASANTS FOR VALLEY Forty-eight Chinese pheasants, young and sprightly, were liberated in the Gunnison Valley last Friday morning. The birds were distributed at Christenburg, Willow Creek and at the mouth of Twelve Mile canyon and from all indications they enjoyed their new homes. The shipment came direct from the hatchery at Springville and were forwarded here at the solicitation of the Gunnison Valley Fish and Game Protective association. It is proposed to care for them and increase the flocks, and to this end a strict watch will be kept any anyone caught shooting the birds will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.- The Chinese pheasants multiply multi-ply very rapidly and in a few years it is to be hoped that the valley will I have big flocks. |
