Show ST. DAVID'S DAY. Tomorrow will be St. David's day. As Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland so is David of the Welsh. Tradition says he was the son of the Prince of Cardiganshire, and flourished in the 5th cci-tury. He turned his attention to religious m at te r s a n d fou n d cd m a n y churches and monasteries. He was celebrated lor bis eloquence and success in conversion. There are a great many Welshmen Welsh-men in America, and as a rule they celebrate' St. David's day. They like to get together and have their games, their friendly contests, and tell about the wonderful doings do-ings of the great old man as tradition tradi-tion has handed the matter down to them. There will be some such gathering in Malal tomorrow and another in Box Klder County. It is claimed that there are over three thousand Welshmen in Malad valley val-ley alone. Logan Journal. |
