Show KIM-DAT liUl'kl'UOT. Ditvirt Wright, Formerly of lirlglium City, drriilcuiully Mint. David Wright, a former resident; of Brighain City, was accidentally! Hhot and killed at Dlackfoot. Idaho. 1 Monday. Dave is the fourth son ; of Judge Wright, who has been j Bhot and killed. The report of the unfortunate affair is as follows: One of the saddest shooting allairs that ever occurred in this section of the country took place here last night. A bullet from the revolver oCa detective, tired with the intention inten-tion of scaring away some coal thieves, lodged in the breast of Mr. David Wright, a wtll known attorney at-torney in Idaho, and. a man highly respected in this community, and death ensued immediately. It appears that freight trains are very often delayed at lilackfout, and while the trains are standing at the depot some persmiH are in the habit of liberally helping themselves them-selves to the coal which forms part of the freight. '1 his has been dis- covered by those in charge of the train, and detectives have beer-, set to watch the cars. About 10 o'clock last night a freight train pulled into the depot, and goon some of the thieves were at work. The detective on watch observed j them, anil as he ran towards them be discharged his revolver, firing into the air. The bullet passed over the top of the ears to the other side of the street and struck Mr. Wright, who was on his way home, as described above. The affair caused a great sensation in the town. The shot was purely accidental, and no action has as j yet been taken in the matter by J the authorities. |
