The Sccondwarders, (25ih school district) held a school election Tuesday evening which was unprecedented un-precedented in the number of votes polled and the barrels of interest shown by the voters even for Ibis ward of wards. The Second Ward is gaining a inighiy reputation j (which stops little short of fame) j for these cb a racier is ties. The crowds which flock to the school meetings, which meetings are quiet as graves in most wards, and the snap and zeal shown in drumming up the ill,-: Iters on the tapis are astonishers to on-lookers from the more peaceful wards. The object of the meeting Tuesday Tues-day was to vote for binding the district for $-1,000 and to choose a site for the proposed neiv building. build-ing. The usual total vote runs from 75 to 100, but on this occasion Ml votes were east, which does not lack much of half the entire number num-ber of voles usually cast at the municipal elections. The votes showed 128 for bonding; li or no honds. two scattering. For site: Iverson. 70; Nielsen, (11); Schow, 2. The opinion for bonding waa quite general. The big struggle, however, was over the site, which . was decided in favor of the Iverson place hy just one majority. Iverson site, just east of the ward mecli ng house, will therefore be selected. |
