Special Another turn in the Mormon Mor-mon temple lot suit took place yesterday. yes-terday. President C. A. Hall, of the Hedriekile branch of the Mm'-inon Mm'-inon churchjwhich is the defendant in the suit for the possession of the sacred ground known as the temple tem-ple lot, announced in his church that ho had decided that the Hedriekile Hed-riekile church was not the true descendant de-scendant of tho Joseph Smith church, and that lie therefore would resign as president of the church and would withdraw from tho membership of the church. The announcement created much excitement, ab the plain meaning of the announcement is that the Utah Mormons will now get a footing foot-ing in this city. The suit for possession of the temple lot is now in the I '11 ited States court, and baa been submitted submit-ted to Judge Philips for a decision. President Hall was one of the leaders lead-ers in the bringing of this suit, ami the question involved will be, which church now existing is the true successor of the old Mormon church as established by Joseph Smith? This declaration of the learned president is one of consternation to the reorganized church of which young Joseph is the head. The Utah people, if they should win the tuiit, will immediately establish their church here, and as they believe, -this to bo their Zion the building of a great temple is to be expected at once. |
