Show Society j Mrs. Fremont Barnes entertained I a number of her friends at a birthday birth-day party last Saturday afternoon at her home in Centerfield. It was one of those "real good times" and there were no card playing or fancy work, but the afternoon was devoted entirely entire-ly to "visiting." Nearly twenty were present and at four o'clock a delicious two-course lunch was served. serv-ed. Mrs. Barnes was presented with a number of beautiful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Chris A. Peterson of Centerfield were hosts to a well appointed ap-pointed dinner party at their home last Friday evening, the event being in honor of Fred Hinze, superintendent superin-tendent of the Gunnison Valley Sugar company, it being the latter's anniversary. The home was beautifully beauti-fully and artistically decorated with autumn leaves and garden flowers. Covers were laid for twelve and Mrs. Peterson was assisted in serving by her daughters, the Misses Johanna and Golda Peterson. The invited guests wer Fred Hinze, Miss Tillie Larson, O. B. Berglund, Mr. and Mrs Anthon Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Gu? Coe, Mrs. Jens Hanson and Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Cherry. i At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johr Kearns on October 15, Miss Celeste Hunt of this city and William Chris-'tensen Chris-'tensen of Richfield were united in marriage, the ceremony being performed per-formed by Bishop B. L. Swalberg Miss Thelma Hunt, a sister to the bride, acted as bridesmaid, while tiollo Christensen of Ephraim wat -est man. Following the ceremonj i wedding supper was served. Mr. aid Mrs. Christensen will make thei; aome at Richfield. Mrs. Roy Childs entertained thirty riends and relatives at a birthdaj .'inner party in honor of her husbanc; .ast Sunday. A most delightful time -vas enjoyed by those present. 1 The Social Circle Club entertained n behalf of the husbands at thf lome of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Knightot ast Wednesday evening, "500" be ng played. Four tables were ar anged and in the contest for tht :onors Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jone ere the victors. The members o he club have announced that even wo weeks the gathering will be se .side for the entertainment of the aen folks. Under the auspices of the Mutua mprovement societies of Gunnison ,ith Roy Hill as master of ceremon es, Louis Bigler was tendered a fare-ell fare-ell party last week at the Relief So iety hall. Mr. Bigler left Frida. lorning for the northern states or mission for the L. D. S. church. A' he party there were nearly 30 0 pres nt and a most delightful evening as spent in songs, speeches and f eneral good time. Games were layed and during the evening re reshments were served.
