Fox, convicted of obtaining money by false pretenses, prevented the sale of President Presi-dent Wilson's ranch In Riverside county coun-ty for delinquent taxes by paying thein himself, it became known here when Fox, In the county jail, received a telegram tele-gram of thanks from J. P. Tumulty, the president's secretary. "I considered It my patriotic duty," was the only comment Fox made. The tax bill was $37.21. The property prop-erty is 61 acres in extent and was purchased pur-chased before Mr. Wilson became president.
