Show SOMETHING OF A SURPRISE Lioness That Was Sent to Indiana Man as Express Package Was Not Entirely Welcome. "There's an express package at the) station for you, Mr. Marshall," came the voice from the manager of the American Express office, at the Laka Erie station at Hartford City over tho telephone. "Do you want it delivered?" was the further query. "Well, what is It?" Lawrence Marshall, Mar-shall, member of the firm of Marshall & Alexander, hardware dealers, interrogated. inter-rogated. The agent agreed to investigate investi-gate but he would not do It again for his job. "Why why why, there's somethin In there that's growlin', something awful guess It's a lion," the agent fairly gasped. "Lion? why what the . Say, you're quite clever this morning? Whereja git that staff?" Finally, however, Marshall was convinced con-vinced that a lioness was crouched in one corner of a nice little cage in the express office. This is how it happened. The man. agement of a wild animal show, which showed at the fall festival here, was in this city a few days previously to the festival, and met Mr. Marshal.
