In the current number of the Utah Educational Keview, published under un-der the auspices of the University of Utah, appears this interesting report of Sanpete count schools from County Coun-ty Superintendent A. J. Eeese : School boards seem to be deve lopr ing a determination to secure the services.of the best available teachers. Better monthly salaries than ever before be-fore are offered and longer terms of school prevail. It is no exaggeration to say that the efficiency of the teacher is, higher tnan evsr before. In some of the larger towns, special supervision is provided. In this matter, Mt. Pleasant, Ephraim, and Manti are taking the lead. With the exception of one district, every dis trict in Sanpete county has an up-to-date school building. - There are high schools in the fol lowing named places with an enrollment en-rollment as specified: M oroui,, 75 ; Manti, 130; Mt. Pleasant. 130, and Gunnison, 40. The school people throughout the state are more or less aware of the high Btandard of work given in the high schools at Manti and Mt. Pleasant. |
