Toone, deputy state commissioner com-missioner of statistics, spent a couple of days this week in Gunnison call-iug call-iug upon delinquents with respect to information required by law to be furnished the State Bureau of I t-ri,-gation, Labor and Statistics. m m The basketball game last Friday evening, between Gunnison High School and the V. X. D's, was one of the most spirited Been here for Bome time. Among those eelected from among the town boyB, for this contest con-test were some cf the best players we have but the school boyB had the ad vatage of daily training aud kept the "cracks" guessing all along the game, taking the first half with 157 and lauding a final 2721. All in all there were some clever plays aud the game interesting to watch from the outset. For the dance followijg, music mu-sic was furnished by students of the high school chiefly, led by James P. Fieldstad. i M M The regular weekly meeting of the ''Owls" was held Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. aud Mrs. Neil Sorenson. A delightful evening was spent. J M Knighton and Mrs. H. A. Kearns demonstrated to all their supeiiority in playing five hundred, Bjadley young and Mr9. Elizabeth E. Peterson coming at the rear as cousolatiou wiuuers. A very nice luncheon was served and numerous games eujoyed, Bradley Young, O.I lasmus3eu and Harry Fiidley in the high jinks being the priucipal "goats," Mr. Faid ley especially bo iu hia iiusophiscated eudeavor to makt acquaintance with the fair sax of ' foreign introduction." The participants partici-pants had such a good time they forgot for-got to notice the latauess of the hour that finally pressed adjournment. |
