Show A Word to Brides. In the society column of a paper from Annan-dale, Annan-dale, Scotland, which reached this office during the week, is "A Word to Brides," which may prove useful to the girl of the spring wedding. It reads as follows: At this season I am constantly asked about trousseaux by brides-elect who are to be married about Easter time. Perhaps a short list of the most serviceable number of garments for an or-dinary or-dinary trousseau may prove useful to many: Six nightgowns (four ordinary, two best). Six combinations or chemises and drawers. One pair serge knickerbockers. l 4 One pair alpaca ditto. Two pairs corsets. Three white petticoats. . One silk petticoat. Four petticoat bodices. Six pairs stockings. One dressing gown. One dressing jacket. Six vests. Eighteen pocket handkerchiefs. Two pairs shoes. One pair slippers. One pair boots. One umbrella. One parasol. Six pair gloves. One mackintosh. The actual dresses their cost and material it is impossible to suggest, as all must depend upon the amount our bride has to spend, and upon her position after marriage. |
