Show Brown Bag Liquor Laws You can buy it in the brown bag, you can buy it in the bottle, or you can buy it by the drink once you understand un-derstand how Utah's "Brown Bag" liquor laws work. State operated liquor agencies are located in Panguitch, near Bryce Canyon and in Escalante. They sell packaged liquors and wines and are closed Sundays and holidays. Some stores are open only Ave days a week. They operate on a cash-only basis and will not accept your check or credit card. Minibottle stores are located in some restaurants which sell minibottles and tenths of wine for consumption con-sumption with meals. There is a set-up and corkage charge and restaurants may accept your check or credit card. Beer bars sell beer only, but you may take your "brown bag" purchase to a beer bar where they will sell you set-ups for a separate charge. Private clubs sell wine, beer and liquor "over the bar" to members and guests of members. Memberships and guest memberships are available for a small fee to tourists and visitors in areas where such private clubs are maintained. Many stores in the county sell beer by the can, carton or case but there are some incorporated towns which do not permit its sale. |
