Show BLM Presents Check For Land Revenues A check for $12,652,847 has been sent to the Utah Treasurer by the Bureau of Land Management as the State's share of mineral and grazing revenues generated on Federal lands in the State. Roland Robison, BLM Utah state director, said the payment was from revenues collected during the last half of fiscal year 1981, April 1 through September 30. He added that BLM made a payment in May of $9,029,395 to the State, bringing the total for FY 81 to more than $21V4 million. The present payment included $12,359,803 from minera revenues, and $293,044 from grazing fees and the sale of land and materials. Robison said that nationally, BLM has distributed more than $215 million to 23 States for the last half of FY 81. With the exceptin of Alaska, each State receives semiannual payments of 50 percent of bonuses, rentals and royalties collected from mineral leasing activities on federally owned public lands within the State. Alaska receives 90 percent per-cent of the mineral leasing receipts. The funds, are used for any public purpose the States choose, giving priority to localities adversely affected af-fected by mineral production on Federal lands. States with public rangelands receive from 12'Sj to 50 percent of the revenue created by the sale of forage to livestock operators, and 4 percent of the revenue derived from the sales of public lands. |
