Show mopw UGVJS By Vicki Syrett 679-8687 vickiscinternet.net Pete and Keela Mangum went to Salt Lake City in March. While there they stayed with Pete's brother and his wife, Richard and Chris Hobson. Keela attended the Relief Society Birthday Party at the Big Cottonwood Stake with Pete's sister, Laura Cottam from St. George. They were fortunate to be able to hear Michael Ballam perform at the birthday party. Keela took Pete to the doctor during their visit and also attended a funeral for a friend, Harold Bezzent. Keela says that Ward Mangum's home on the Blue Ridge is moving right along. It is beginning to look like a house. Cami Mangum and Laycee Johnson, Keela's daughter-in-law and daughter, went on an all girls horse trip. This trip is held each year and they really enjoyed themselves. Tammi Syrett is recovering from minor surgery and is feeling feel-ing better. Dorie Baugh and Dana Courtright and daughter Emily just returned from Colorado where they spent time with Chris and Cari Gillespie over the Easter weekend. They all had a very nice visit and returned to Utah just in time, on Monday, for Dorie to have surgery on her knee. She is doing well and has been staying with daughter, Jana Baugh while she recovers. She returned to Tropic on Friday and hoped to be back in school on Monday. Dorie 's mother, Shanna White, came up from St. George to help out. Lester and Vertis Clarke had daughter, April and her husband, Rick Evans from Salt Lake City for a visit over the Easter holiday. holi-day. They brought Bryan and Kirsten, their children, with them. Kelani and Angie Mogo with their two children also came to visit. They work with Rick and April at Mack's Inn in Island Park, ID where they all live. Ivan and Tori Clarke from Salem, UT came the next weekend week-end and brought their three children, chil-dren, Haley, Tana and Clayton with them. Our condolences go to the family of Ella Wilson Adair on her passing away. Bonnie Miles and Larry Adair are Ella's daughter and son. Larry has been on an LDS mission and flew in to be at his mother's funeral. She was always concerned con-cerned about people and cared for them very much. She has been a very important part of the Bryce Valley community for many years. It has been stated (See TROPIC on page 5-A) I Tropic News Fmm Paap d-A that Ella was an "icon" in the area. She will be greatly missed by all. Gail and Bonnie Miles went up to Salt Lake City to see baby Brynlee Steveson sealed to her parents, David and Joanne Steveson. It was a beautiful ceremony. cer-emony. They then went to Cedar City where their grandson, grand-son, Chandler, was baptized. He is the son of Kay Lynn, their daughter. Carl and Kay Shakespear had a full house over the Easter break. Bryant and MaryAnne Shakespear and son, Jacob were here, along with Matthew, Stephanie, Brokelle and Keeli Shakespear from California and Paul and his sister, Kirsten who came from Cedar City to make the Easter weekend very pleasant pleas-ant for their parents. Mike, Stacie, Cambry and Makay Jensen came to spend Easter Sunday with their par ents, Arthur and Vicki Syrett. It was a very nice day. Grandma and the two kids painted little rabbits to celebrate the holiday and Mike and Arthur worked in the yard on Monday and then the Jensens had to return home to Enoch. Kevin and Jeanee Shakespear had daughter Tammy come from Cedar City to spend the weekend. week-end. Jesse Shakespear and his fiance, Emily Mathew of Panguitch, celebrated the Easter day with his parents and family. They are going to be married on the 15th of June. Joey Shakespear was also there and the next weekend he went to Richfield to spend his time doing military duty with the National Guard. It was also good to see Katrina Muir home visiting with her family, Dean and Karleen Mclnelly and brother Kaleb. She lives in Logan. |
