Show Give It Some Attention I recently read a picturesque, well written, informative, and well illustrated brochure explaining the cause of the thousands thou-sands of acres of dead trees in the Cedar Breaks area. It was so well done that if I had not seen the Forest Service Logo on it, I would have thought it was written writ-ten by SUWA or the Sierra Club, in an effort to downplay their culpability in this disaster. , There was not one word as to why this destruction of so much timber was allowed to happen. I cannot understand why the public pub-lic (nationwide) has not been told that Forest Service personnel person-nel were prevented from removing remov-ing the bug infested trees when they were first discovered (and few in number) by injunctions slapped upon them by the "Subtle Underhanded Wreckers Alliance" and the Saboteurs la Environmental Resource Related Activities," in their drive to destroy the lumber industry which was so important to all of us who live in this part of our state. I also had a hard time understanding under-standing why the media have not had a field day with this catastrophe like they did when a few cattle were allowed to eat a few extra mouthfuls of grass on public land. You can bet your bottom dollar that if there had been evidence that grazing, mining, min-ing, drilling or logging had anything any-thing to do with this beetle infestation, it would have been front page headline news in all of the papers and prime time material for television up to the present time. It almost makes one wonder if there are so many of these "enviro-terroritsts" in positions of influence in all of the media and in the Forest Service that they are able to control what the rest of us are allowed to see, hear, or read. If so, then our country is in more trouble than just dealing with the Taliban or Al-Quada. Perhaps when this dead forest burns (and it will, which is what the enviros want) and the smoke is seen or smelled along the East Coast, then Congress, the Courts, and the Media might give it the attention it should have had years ago.
