John and Annie Burnett have had her grandchildren visiting from Las Vegas, Nev., Joshua and Marie Carter and Johnnie Carter. Bev and Guy Thompson and daughters Rachael and Heidi went on a trip to England and Wales. That is where Guy spent his LDS mission. They were able to meet some of the fami-" lies Guy taught and go to dinner with them. Heidi stayed for some time to backpack in Scotland. Heather went to Las Vegas to tend Rachael's kids. Savannah and Dixie have been working on weekends, but Savannah will be working in Las Vegas again this summer. Heidi will be teaching a college prep class in Las Vegas next year. Ernie and Wynona Henderson were very pleasantly surprised to have Jeanene and Jim Kimder of Norco, Calif., come on Saturday for a visit. Jeanene has been feeling good, so they are on the beginning of a month-long trip which will take them through Colorado and Arizona. They went out to dinner din-ner and really had an enjoyable visit. The Henrieville Cemetery Committee has done a beautiful job in making things look nice for Memorial Day. With the new water line working now, it sure helps. Thanks to all who helped to put it in. Rick Willis and son Jonathan of Meridian, Ida., came to visit Helen Willis and to bring Jonathan for the summer where he has employment at Rubys Inn. Marie and Larry Head of Boise, Ida., came on Thursday for the holiday weekend. Lucas Ramsay and his friend Laurie came from St. George to visit Helen Willis. Ben Kolman, son of Laura Worthen, received his LDS mission mis-sion call to the North Carolina Raleigh Mission. We're so happy for him, and he was beaming all over. He will enter the Missionary Training Center in July. A very special graduation program was held last Sunday at The Escalante LDS Stake Center for seminary students in the stake. Monte Twitchell has taught in both Bryce Valley and Escalante. We congratulate all the grads. Jessica Ramirez and Jacob Dodd are graduates from here. Good luck to all of you. The news from last week was inadvertently left out sorry! Iris Bushnell and Doris Liles were in Escalante to help celebrate cele-brate a birthday party. They visited vis-ited Jan Liston and Stan's i) daughters. Russ and Lyllian LeFevre had all of their kids and families home for Memorial Day. Dennis and Brenda Shakespear, Kanab; Steve and Vickie Coons, Kearns; Lynne and Mala Shakespear of St. George; and Tyler and Lisa Lyman of Escalante and Greg and Paula Shakespear of Escalante and Travis 'and Tammy Shakespear of Henrieville and their families. Russ and Lyllian were also in Cedar City to the Lions Club convention over the weekend. Visiting Helen Willis was Brett and Triessa and Mardi Hepworth of Cedar City. Helen also met her brother, Alfred Underwood in Richfield for lunch. He lives in Orem. Max, Logann and Calvin Eagar were in Cedar City one day shopping. Dorsie and Shelby Huffaker went to Cedar City to spend the day having fun. Barbara Paris and her daughter, daugh-ter, Tiffany and son, McCall came and picked up Rae Smith and went on to Escalante for the Woolsey Reunion held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Barry Barnson's. Rae's sister Billy Dean Ellett of West Valley City and her grandkids came and stayed for a few days. Rilee and Margo Smith came by and visited visit-ed also. Lula and Frankie Moore, Darreld and Mary Lou Nielsen and Doyle Nielsen went to Annabella for the funeral of Bob Santos. He is the husband of i Oma Santos who is Lula's step7 daughter. They all paid a visit to Alice Ormond afterward. Lula Moore has enjoyed having hav-ing her great grandkids, Rowdy and Cheyenne here this week from Panguitch. Cody Mortensen, son of Andy and Shauna Mortensen was called to active duty and departed this week for North Carolina. Nicole DiSera of Riverton' called to tell us that her basebal team the All-Star Twisters won first place in the tourna-", ment held in Springville and she made the winning run! She is a daughter ofTrish Dixon. Delano Callahan spent a few days in Garfield Memorial Hospital. We hope he soon is up and around. Enrichment night at Henrieville LDS Ward was very enjoyable with a pot luck dinner and a history and pictures of Henrieville given by Karin Barker. . Joshua Rose was baptized by his father, Daniel Rose on May 29j. We congratulate him. His grandfather Christensen of Moab was also in attendance for the important event. |
