Show By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearlroeyahoo.com ' Panguitch and I are still here! There was no news article last week due to an error on my part. I will try to not let it happen again. The BIG news for last week was the nice little rainstorm that sneaked upon us in the night. According to my unofficial rain gauge, it dropped about one fourth inch of much needed moisture. One of my more dependable news sources, Norma Talbot, came through with this information informa-tion concerning the recent funeral for Scott Robinson, a long time- Panguitch Resident and a good friend to everyone who knew him. The funeral was well attended by children, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Gerald and Irene Robinson and children from Boise, Ida.; Donald and Eileen Robinson and grandchildren from Bountiful; and Paul and Charlene Robinson from Salina (three of Scott's sons). Other relatives attending were Scott, Michael, and Jennifer Robinson of Mesa, Ariz., (children of the late Bob Robinson); Marilyn Robinson and daughter, Britten Marie of Salt Lake City; Janice and Kay Benson also from Salt Lake City; and Mabel Robinson from Nephi (wife of the late Jack Robinson). Norma was pleased to have three of her other children and their spouses present; Ronna and Kenneth Hoesch; Art and Mary Talbot; Roma and Hal Wilcock, and Tom Talbot's wife (Maxine) and their daughter, Emily (son Tom was unable to attend). Barbara and Joan Hill, daughters of Scott's sister Fausta (deceased) also came to honor their uncle Scott. The Robinson family was especially grateful to Colleen and Gary , orton for all that they did to make the trying time more pleasant. We all welcome Cache Miller home following the completion of his LDS mission in Mexico. Cache is the son of Jim and June Ann Miller. There must be a big difference in being in a Spanish speaking mission in the U.S. and one in Mexico. My grandson, grand-son, Steven Moore, also returned from his Spanish mis-. sion in Southern California recently and both he and Cache are fluent in Spanish, but Cache came home with the real Mexican accent. He would have a hard time convincing anyone who hears him speak that he was born and grew up in Panguitch. Both he and Steven are being kept busy speaking in all of the different LDS wards. (They even furnish a musical number "Ye Elders of Israel", sung in Spanish and accompanied by Pam Yardley. Matt Proudfoot and children, Michael and Britney were guests at the home of Merle Stowell for a couple of days. Matt is the son-in-law of Roberta (Stowell) Fowler, Merle's daughter. Matt's wife, Jaime, had to remain at home in Portland, Ore., taking care of their new baby girl, Megan. Lidia Martinez and her daughters Lizet and Cindy and son Kevin were guests at the Lavenda Moore home for a couple cou-ple of days. The Martinez family fami-ly is one that Steven was close to during his mission. This is the first visit to Utah by the children who wanted to see the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After visiting the temple they came to Panguitch to visit the Moores (especially Steven) and were treated to a tour of Bryce Canyon which they thought was wonderful. Last night they prepared a Mexican supper of pupusas and pozole for the Moore family. They needed some white hominy for the ingredients and Deanna could not find any so she called dad (me) and it just happened that I had a gallon can of it (I like hominy), so Evalyn and I were invited to come and try the food. It was different from other Mexican food I have eaten, but it was very good and I enjoyed it. Kevin (Martinez) enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and riding horses with Deanna and Kevin's boys which he doesn't get to do in Oxnard, Calif. Ardith Davis, Thais Griffin, Art and Beverly Crosby, Sharlene Roper and son Jordan recently returned from a trip to California where they went to visit Art's brother Ellis Crosby, and his wife Leilla. The purpose of the trip was to help Ellis celebrate cel-ebrate his 84th birthday and while there they also celebtated Jordan's 6th birthday. They all had a wonderful time visiting the zoo, the nearby forest, shopping, shop-ping, and just visiting. Frank and Cecil (Houston) Orton (both class of 1940) are staying at their Panguitch home for a short time spanning the Memorial weekend. They had to return to their home in Salt Lake City, but plan on spending most of the Summer in their Panguitch home. While they were here, we had a little get-together and decided to start planning plan-ning the 65th reunion for the Class of 1940 for next year. Cecil and Frank did not think we needed to start so early, but I told them that if many of our living liv-ing members are as slow as I am, triey will need a year's notice. (If any other PHS classes class-es are planning reunions for 2005, let me know and I will alert them.) I am sure there will have been a lot of "home town" folks here for Memorial Day and I will try to fill you in on them next week.
