Show Karl Lowder HATCH, Utah Karl Lowder, 83, of Hatch, Utah, died July 19, 2001 in Panguitch, Utah. Karl was born July 7, 1918 in Parowan, Utah to Jesse Franklin and Mary Alice Bentley Lowder. He married Reva Huntington on Jan. 24, 1941 in Hatch, the marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple and she preceded him in death May 24, 1995. He was drafted into the armed forces, where he served for 18 months in WWII, separating with the rank of Staff Sargent. Karl served as Hatch Town mayor for three terms, a total of 15 years. While mayor, he supervised sidewalk and road improvements, construction of the fire house, a new roof on the DUP building, and placing phone lines in town. He has always been a hard worker. In his earlier years, he cut timber and worked construction. He worked for Garfield County for 14 years. In his spare time he was a carpenter and brick mason. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he served in many capacities. He is survived by children: Velta (Seth John) Lott of Cedar City, Jesse L. (Ronda) Lowder of Gold Hill, Ore., Karleta (Ronald K.) Riggs of Panguitch, Mary Beth (Curtis) Schmutz of Washington; Laretta May (Philip L.) Crofts of Orderville; 24 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brothers and sisters: LaRee (Max) Burrows of Fredonia, William Boyd (Judy) Lowder of u 1 : t ," : Karl Lowder Orem, Glenn (Ilene) Lowder of ' Springville, Emma Alder of . ; California, Ella Felstead of Parowan; and sister-in-law, .-Florence .-Florence Lowder of Delta. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Utah. Louise Adams CEDAR CITY Louise Henderson Hender-son Adams, 70, passed away on July 12, 2001 at the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City, Utah. She was born . on Oct. 3, 1930 in Panguitch, Utah to Reed Samuel and Nita Lee Henderson. She married Nathan Calvin Adams on Dec. 25, 1953 in Panguitch, Utah, they were later divorced. Louise graduated from Panguitch Pan-guitch High School in 1948; she graduated from Branch Agricultural College in 1950 and attended Utah State for one year. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company from 1951-1957. Moving to Cedar City, with her parents and son, she. continued to work for the phone company for the 30-plus years before retiring. Louise was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Sunday school, Young Womens Mutual Improvement Association and Relief Society. She loved watching her son participate in scouting and sports. She enjoyed her four grandchildren, and faithfully faith-fully wrote her three grandsons while they were on their missions. She loved to hear from them and hear of their experiences. Louise will always be remembered for her candy during Christmas time; this was her gift to her family and Evelyn Clarke Evelyn Clarke, 53, of Hawthorne, Haw-thorne, Nev., died July 1.7, 2001 in Hawthorne. She was born July 22, 1947 in Hawthorne to John and Amy Smith Clarke. She graduated from Mineral County High School in Hawthorne and received her teaching degree from the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City, now Southern L'tah University. She was a life long resident of Hawthorne and taught the first and second grades for 3 1 years. She was a member of the Nevada Education Educa-tion Association and a past president presi-dent of the Mineral County NEA. She was a member of the LDS church. She is survived by her mother Amy Clarke of Henrievillc; sisters: Lenora Fullmer of Hawthorne and ' Anna Barcelos of Ft. Gibson, Okla.; brothers: John E. Clarke of Clinton, Iowa and Samuel R. Clarke of Grants Pass, Ore. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 24 in Hawthorne. Graveside and interment will be Thursday, July 26 at 1 1 a.m.iat the Hcnrieville Cemetery.
