Show Lower Bowns Reservoir Claims Two lives BOULDER A boating accident acci-dent July 19 at Lower Bowns Reservoir claimed the lives of 6-year-old Cameron Robinson, son of Zachary and Pamela Robinson of Price and 25-year-old Randy Hunt, a family friend, also of Price. Witnesses said the accident happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. when the boat's engine experienced problems, spinning the boat around when restarted and apparently, expelling its occupants, who were not wearing life jackets, abnut 100 yards offshore. - Boy Scouts and their leaders torn St. George who were nearby totified authorities. Search efforts included law enforcement agencies, emergency services and search and rescue teams. Help arrived from Wayne, Sevier, and Carbon Coun- ties, with Garfield County taking the lead in search efforts. Hunt's body was recovered that evening by Sevier County's search and rescue with special equipment as searching continued until 10 p.m. Searching resumed the following follow-ing morning and continued until the recovery of the child's body about 9 a.m. Sheriff Than Cooper lauded the efforts of everyone who assisted in the recovery, and thanked all local volunteers. Deputy Kevin Moore led actions on July 19 and Deputy John Niemann on July 20. Both were assisted by Commander Curt Richins, Escalante Search and Rescue. The big fellow fel-low mistook the Silver Kastmaster for a minnow, swallowing the lure and bringing in a tasty treat to the Simon table. |
