Show CannonvillG Mows By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Visiting Andrea McCormick was her sister Patrice Peterson and family and her future son-in-law from Houston, Tex. They were only able to stay overnight but the visit was well worth the long ride to get here. A.C. and Rita Hammer have as guests their daughter Joy Platter and children Haleigh, Ammon, Ethan and Quinten of Olympia, Wash. They will spend a few weeks with her parents and are excited about seeing their new little cousin Ryan Fletcher and enjoying the sunshine and beauties of the area. The Joseph S. and Alice Henderson Hen-derson Dunham family reunion was held here last weekend. Their three remaining children, Edgar Dunham, Margaret Braithwaite and LaVera Moss were all present, as were two daughters-in-law, Minok Dunham and Anna Dunham. Others whose names were reported to me were Ethan and Lisa Dunham and family of Salt Lake City, Van J. Dunham of Gilbert, Ariz. Krista Dunham and children of Escalante, Kurtis and Susann Dunham, Willie and Ginny Dunham and son Bubba all of Panguitch, Mary Johnson and family of Panguitch, J.J. Dunham, and Jacob and Sharleen Moss, all of Cannonville. Every year they have a horseshoe pitching tournament which is a family tradition. This year it was won by Edgar and his son Ed. With lots of visiting and good food, they reported a wonderful time. High school friend Danny Crough of Huntington Beach, Calif, has been a guest of Jacob Hammer. Sheldon Clark had knee surgery and is at the Kolob Rehabilitation Center in Cedar City. Visiting Marva Fletcher this week are daughter Annabelle Palmer of Fontana, Calif; son John and grandson Jack Fletcher of Henderson, Hen-derson, Nev.; and daughter Rosemary Rose-mary Fletcher of Cedar City. Jack is an entertainer at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, where he performs two to five shows a week. He is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has had experience in TV commercials and movies. On Sunday July 15 in LDS Sacrament meeting, the youth speaker was Marshall Thompson. Representing the high council was Bob Ott. was accompanied by his wife Mira Loy Ott who also spoke. The choir sang "Carry On" and Ott was the concluding speaker. On Tuesday evening, the LDS young men and young womens organizations met at the park to decorate a float for the Pioneer Day parade. Many young people attended and refreshments were served. Teresa Thompson took Robby McCormick to Anaheim, Calif, to attend the FCCLA competition. He did very well, winning a silver medal. More than 5,000 students participated from all over the United States and Puerto Rico in the week-long week-long contest. Workshops and other activities were held. One of the highlights was a speech given by Scott Brady, a pilot, who in 1996. went down in his plane and had to wait six days before being rescued. He told his story in such an interesting way that everyone sat spellbound. Another interesting item was that there were a couple hundred boys there, so being that the girls were in the majority, the boys had all the attention they could handle. Phyllis and Mel Beard spent last weekend in Salt Lake City attending attend-ing a reunion with Mel's brother and sisters. -On Wednesday, the Beards took the Scouts on an overnight over-night campout. Those who went were Brent McCormick, Dustin Leslie and Adam Palfrevman. John and Ramona Morreale had friends from Needles, Calif, visiting them for a couple of days Also visiting were Renee Moss and three children from Oregon and grandmother LaVera Moss. Anita Fletcher spend three enjoyable days in Spring City with her parents Clement and Marie Broderick. We were saddened to hear of the death of Evelyn Clarke of Hawthorne, Haw-thorne, Nev., daughter of Amy Clarke of .Henrieville and the late John Clarke. We extend our heartfelt heart-felt sympathy to her mother and father. |
