Show Ox (SMMm Billie Miller PANGUITCH, Utah Will-metta Will-metta "Billie" Owens Miller, 84, of Panguitch, Utah passed away April 8, 2001, in Panguitch. Billie was adopted at the approximate age of 2 by William T. Jr. and Mary Isabell Robinson Owens and was assigned the birth date of Oct. 7, 1916. This was the birthdate of her adopted brother Callis. She had two brothers broth-ers and one sister who were all adopted. In her early years she spent her summers at Panguitch Lake where her parents owned a fishing resort. She had to quit school in her sophomore year to take care of her mother and the family because her mother had suffered several severe strokes and was unable to care for them. She married Wallace Miller, July 16, 1935, in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death Nov. 14, 2000. Wallace and Billie were always together and so it is fitting that she is able to join him after his death five months ago. They were owneroperators of the Panguitch Lake Resort at Panguitch Lake for eight years. They enjoyed taking trips to look for old stoves, bottles, and other antiques which they enjoyed collecting. Billie was a primary teacher during her younger years and was a long time visiting teacher. She was a member of the Lady Lions Club for 51 years. She earned many 100 percent attendance pins of which she was very proud. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley M.. (Ted) Chidester, Pan- ESCALANTE CEDAR CITY Our loving wife, daughter, daugh-ter, sister, mother, and grandmother, grand-mother, Shirley Heap Marsh passed away peacefully on Apr. 5, 2001 at her home in Escalante, Utah in the presence of her loving husband and family, following a 10- year battle with cancer. Shirley was born Oct. 2, 1942 in Cedar City, Utah to Max and Evelyn Heap. She attended Cedar High School and the College of Southern Utah (CSU). While attending at-tending CSU, she married Sharon Dale Marsh in the St. George LDS Temple on Mar. 10, 19.62. The couple settled in Escalante where they raised four children. Shirley always had a love for animals, especially horses. As a teenager, she was crowned rodeo queen, and loved barrel racing. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, and cherished her church callings. She loved serving in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Re-lief Society organizations. Shirley particularly enjoyed serving as the director of the Family History Center, Cen-ter, where she spent countless hours researching her family, and helping others with research. Shirley always loved family gatherings. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. I Funeral services will be held Thursday, Apr. 12, 2001, at 1 p.m. ! in the Panguitch 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 400 E. 200 N. in Panguitch, where friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery. Funeral services were held Monday, Mon-day, Apr. 9, 2001 at the Escalante LDS Stake Center at 80 S. Center ! in Escalante, Utah. Interment was at the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of the Southern Utah Mortuary. |
