Show EscQlqnfc Uzm By Marlene Haws 826-4859 . Spring has arrived! And with it the wind! But we have to have a little bit of the bitter to be able to appreciate the sweet. Right? We will probably turn the furnaces off one day soon. ..and the air conditioners condi-tioners on the next day ! Jim and Lola Alvey, Mapleton, brought Eva Dean Liston home last week. She spent the winter with her daughters up north, but will be home now for the summer. Steve and LaVee Wiscombe, also of Mapleton, joined the Alveys here for a four-wheeling trip down on the desert. They have a group that wants to come down with them in June and go to the Hole-In-The-Rock. Jim, don't you know it is sunburn weather in June? Leone and Shirley Gates came from Salt Lake City to spend the weekend with Pratt and Areola Gates. Pratt could probably make a cowboy out of Leone, again, if he would come down and stay! Rolain Alvey spent the weekend in Kanab with her brother and sister-in-law LaDell and Karen Alvey. The home of Frank and Kathryn Coleman caught fire on Monday afternoon af-ternoon Apr. 2. The cause is believed be-lieved to be a flue fire. What the fire didn't damage, the water used to put it out did. They are now living in the trailer they own, on the lot beside their house. They are waiting wait-ing now to see what the insurance adjusters will tell them. We sympathize sym-pathize and hope everyone will pitch in to help them. Michelle Liles, Cedar City, was at the home of her parents Sharon Dale and Shirley Marsh before Shirley Shir-ley passed away. Our hearts go out with sympathy to this family. The snowbirds are beginning to fly home, a few at a time. Stan and Jan Liston came from St. George. Lewis and Jean Griffin were here for a day or two and will probably be back to start on that garden before long. And when I passed by the home of Ben and Renee Porter, just after they moved back from Provo, Ben was standing out on the lawn with both arms reaching heavenward. heaven-ward. I could almost read his lips. I think he was saying, "I'm free! I'm free!" |
