Show Tropic fowl. The annual Lorin C. Miles reunion re-union was held at Ruby's Inn Campground. Gail and Bonnie Miles were happy to have their children in attendance. Jeff and Annette An-nette Miles family are from Boise, Ida.; Joanne and Dave Steveson and family from Sandy; Greg Miles and boys from Las Vegas, Nev.; Carrie and Kip Ferris and family and Kaye Lynn Miles from Cedar City. Also attending were Larry and Carol Miles Adair and children. Also, Bonnie Miles committed herself to the internationally known Sea Trek 2001 which has already started to cross the Atlantic Ocean and setting port in Denmark, Sweden, Swe-den, Norway, Germany and England. Eng-land. Bonnie is retracing, backwards, back-wards, the journey of her Danish, English and Scottish ancestors, one hundred fifty years ago. As a culmination cul-mination to this 59-day event, she will also participate as an actress (See TROPIC on page 4-A) TROPIC From Page 2-A presenting an immigrants point of view, sharing her own family's personal history. Jean Syrett celebrated her birthday birth-day in Cedar City with many of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren attending her party. Clive and Thelma report that they attended this event as well, along with Rick and Renon Bybee, and that it was Jean's 84th birthday! The Parley and Lydia Pollock reunion was recently held at the Tropic Town Park. Janet Pollock's family took charge of this event and reported that over 80 people were in attendance. Dixie Shakespear enjoyed the ride to Boulder, with her daughter and son-in-law Arvon and Nolan Button of Kanab, to attend the sparse Hall family reunion. I saw Anita and Paul Iverson, from St. George, again, and was wondering if they had moved to Tropic on weekends! I'm sure that her mother Lillis Francisco thoroughly thor-oughly enjoys these visits. Actually, Actu-ally, Sandrea Francisco had to give me the scoop. The Francisco family reunion was held at Red Canyon with about 50 people in attendance. EvaDean Francisco's cousin, Merylene Poma and a friend, Alex-ann Alex-ann came from California to visit with her and Charlie. The Sherman Baugh family held their reunion at Rubyslnn. Tyce and Paula Palmer and family fam-ily of Cedar City joined with his parents, Bart and Peggy Palmer, and sister, Kacee and Tyson Brinkerhoff in celebration of the blessing of T.J. Brinkerhoff and enjoyed visiting visit-ing with many other family members mem-bers at the town park dinner. Bart and Peggy also enjoyed having a weekend visitor, Scott Palmer from Fontana, Calif. John Ahlstrom's mother, LaVerne, has remarried and the lucky man is Mont Willis from Apple Valley, Calif., and they have made their new home together in TaVerkin. Lacey Edwards, of Tooele, came to visit friends over the weekend. Chad and Holly Seiler spent the weekend with his parents, Jean and Spring Seiler. Berdell and Carma Barton attended at-tended the Castle Valley Pageant and on their way home stopped overnight at their daughters, Connie and Mike Heaps. They then tended their four grandchildren while Connie Con-nie and Mike fulfilled their commitments com-mitments to the Piute County Fair. Lowell and Margaret Mecham attended South Central Communications Communi-cations meetings in Idaho. Gloria Hayden has been taking her local friends to dinner! Glade Stewart of Boulder City, Nev. made a quick trip to visit his mother Leona Stewart. Recently heard by a distraught father who was trying to tend to his crying babys needs, was told by the doctor after a quick examination of the baby, that only a diaper change was needed. The perplexed father exclaimed, "but the diaper package says it is good for up to ten pounds!" ' |
