Some walking may be required when steep grades and rough terrain is encountered. B: Trek limited to maximum of 36 participants. You provide: A: Your own sleeping bag with foam or inflatables compact mattress. B: One carry-on bag with change of clothes, etc.; coat, gloves, hat, warm footwear. Space is fimited, no excess baggage. C: If desired, one small cooler and your camera. Your costs: A: Transportation to and from Escalante prior to start and end dates. B: $735 per person for nine days with $50 deposit per person due with applications. Trip starts Monday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 a.m. and ends Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m. Price includes three meals per day plus some snacks, tent, sanitation and shuttle service. Houston's Catering service from Kanab will provide all meal services. C: Lodging in Escalante prior to start date and at the end date of wagon trek. Our responsibilities: Provide a safe, enjoyable covered wagon trek from Escalante to the Hole-In-The-Rock and return following the existing GarfieldKane County roads and camping at established cow camps. Maintain low impact as outlined in our permits from the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. We will provide pro-vide evening entertainment, re-enactment program activities at the Hole-In-The-Rock, and provide video-taping of the entire trek with purchasing availability. Typical early November temperature averages: 40 - 50 degrees fahrenheit day time and 18-24 degrees nighttime. Wagon train travel time will be approximately six hours per day including lunch and rest stops in daylight hours only. This is a six-wagon train with a maximum of six passengers per wagon, includ ing not more than six riding horses. A: No tag-a-long motorized vehicles allowed in train or at campsite. B: Only designated support vehicles will be allowed at the campsite with minimal press coverage. Your vehicle will remain in Escalante in storage at a designated site. C: Deadline for applications is September 20, 2001 .
