Show camwnviLLGUGUs By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Larry and Glenna Fletcher hosted a family birthday party in honor of her brother, LaVon Broderick of Spring City. The Fletcher's twin sons, Delon and Leon and son, Richard, all had birthdays this month. Lavon and his wife, Janene and some of their family and friends came for the weekend and stayed at the Grand Staircase Inn. Richard Fletcher was also the "birthday boy" at a surprise party as the LDS Single Adults in the area honored him one evening, bringing a birthday cake which they all enjoyed. Erica Racker, St. George spent the weekend here visiting her parents. Alma and Anita Fletcher. They have been getting get-ting new carpeting in their home. Howard and Dorothy Leavitt are home from St. George where Howard underwent aneurysm surgery. He looks like he had a pretty rough time but he said he is going to be all right. He said ' he isn't in a lot of pain now. We hope he is soon well and strong again. Dorothy is glad that had has the surgery over with and is going as well as he is. Many of our young people went to Tropic to attend the missionary mis-sionary farewell for Elder Skyler Syrett. On Sunday in Cannonville LDS Ward, Sylvanna Leslie was the youth speaker, followed by Slate Stewart, and Gail Miles was the concluding speaker representing rep-resenting the Stake High Council. Jacob Hammer came from Logan where he is attending attend-ing the university and spent the weekend with his parents, the AC and Rita Hammers. The Scorpion Patrol of the Cannonville Scout Troop spent a wonderful weekend camping out at Kodachrome State Park campground. The scouts made pizza in a Dutch oven over the campfire. The next morning they treated the Cannonville Webelos to pepperoni scrambled eggs. Delicious! Webelo Scouts from Tropic and Cannonville tried out Red Canyon's new bike trail on Monday. They reported that the trail is not all downhill but is well worth the ride. Ellen Clarke, Carolyn Wallen and Mel Beard rode with the boys. |
