Show County's Voters Head For The Polls Tuesday In Local Elections Voters in the county's eight municipalities will go to the polls on Tuesday to cast votes for many of their local officials. Polls in each community will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Voting locations are as follows: fol-lows: Antimony, firehouse, Highway 22 (Town Clerk Nancy Prather); Boulder, Town Hall, 351 N. 100 E.; (Town Clerk Judy Davis); Cannonville, Community Center, 30 Red Rock Drive, (Town Clerk Gloria Clark); Escalante, Senior Citizen Center, 65 N. 100 w. (City Recorder Vickie Schulkoski); Hatch, Town Hall, 49 w. Center St. r. (Town Clerk Jacie A-fcrsen); Henrivvillc, Old SciraOlhouse, 90 Main St. (Town Clerk Lisa Chynoweth); Panguitch, City Office Building, 25 S. 200 E. (City Recorder Cindy Johnson); and Tropic, Firehouse, 40 N. 300 W. In towns with populations of less than 1,000, write-in candidates candi-dates are acceptable and will be counted. In cities, write-in candidates can-didates must officially declare their candidacy as a write-in. In Antimony, Shannon Allen has no opposition on the ballot in his quest for mayor, a four-year four-year term. Leonard F. Cox and Tom King are seeking the four-year four-year seat for town council. In Boulder, Kevin Eastman is challenging incumbent mayor Keith Gailey for the four-year mayor's seat. Boulder voters will select two four-year council members from among D. Farlan Behunin, Randy John Catmull, Bill Muse and Joe L. Parker. They will also decide between Gladys LeFevre and Bradley J. Timothy for the two-year council coun-cil seat that is open. Boulder voters will also decide whether to change the town's current liquor ordinances which do not now permit restaurants restau-rants serving alcoholic beverages. bever-ages. A vote to "Change Ordinance will make that change and a vote for "No Change" will retain the current status. In Cannonville, Alma Fletcher is the only ballot candidate candi-date for mayor, a four-year term. Three candidates are seeking the two four-year council seats that are open: Joe Hughes, Tom Shakespeare and Joe Thompson. Escalante voters will decide between Marjie Lee Spencer and Lenza Wilson for the four-year four-year mayor position. Tom Mansell and Lennie "Don" Porter, both listed on the official ballot, are seeking the two four-year four-year council seats that are open. Emilee Lott, as a write-in candidate, candi-date, is also seeking one of those seats. In Hatch, two candidates, Lewis L. Barney and Kevin D. Eldredge, are seeking the four-year four-year mayor term. Shelley Burrows and Nikki Feit have no challengers for the two four-year four-year council seats that are open. In Henrieville, there are no candidates on the ballot for the four-year mayor's term. Kenneth G. Piatt and Boyd Smith are unopposed for the two four-year council seats that are open. Panguitch voters will decide between Janet Oldham- and Cindy Taylor Stewart for mayor, a four-year term. Voters will also vote for two of the following follow-ing four candidates for four-year council seats: Eric Houston, Denny Orton, Leland F. Pollock, and Michael Savage. In Tropic, voters will elect either Wally Orton or A. Jean Seiler as mayor for four years. They will choose two of the following fol-lowing three for the four-year open council seats: Wesley Clarke, Sandrea Francisco or Travis LeFevre. |
