Show PMJGUirca aeivs By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The hawks are still floating in the warm air over the valley, but since the flowers froze, there are no hummingbirds around. In the Panguitch LDS 2nd and 4th Wards the Primary children chil-dren presented the programs in Sacrament meeting. The theme was "Follow the Prophet." Each child had a speaking part and then all sang the appropriate songs. It was very impressive. In the Panguitch LDS 3rd Ward the program was presented present-ed by the Paul and Florence Hathcock family. It was the missionary farewell for their son Bryon who graduated from Panguitch High School. Although the Hathcock family now lives in northern Utah, where Paul teaches music, they lived here for several years and became close to folks in the area. We wish Elder Hathcock well and hope all will be well with his family. Derrick and Laura Pierson Pollock are back home to stay now. They live at the Evan's ranch, the former Carl LeFevre ranch, in the north end of the valley. Derrick graduated from a saddle and boot making school and will be working at that occupation. Laura is a daughter of Doug and Darlene Evans. We welcome them home. Brian and Kristin Huber, who have been living in the Jim Henrie home, are moving home to Vernal. Brian is a technician at the hospital. Kristin taught tobacco prevention classes. We will miss them. Karla Cooper Owens is home from her summer job at Panguitch Lake and has her preschool pre-school in operation. . Tyler Owens was the speaker at the Care Center at the Sunday LDS service. He is a son of Gary and Karla Owens. He is in his last semester at Utah State University at Logan. In January he will go to Washington, D.C. and become a staff member for Jim Hansen. In the Panguitch LDS 1st Ward, Cheryl Church, wife of Richard Church, was the adult speaker. The Churches recently moved into their home on Main street next to the Blue Pine Motel. We welcome them to Panguitch. Youth speakers were Megan and Eliza Cooper, daughters of the Than Coopers. Gene and Berneice Collette recently moved in to the former home of the Keith Tacys, adjacent adja-cent to the Bob McCulloughs. Bob and Jill McCullough and daughter Camree flew to Wisconsin to see his 84-year-old mother, who is having serious health problems. The Panguitch High School and Middle School faculty and staff had a combined first-of-the-year party at the city park. They presented a lovely painting paint-ing to Ted Chidester to honor him on his retirement from the school district. Joan Norton's foster daughter, daugh-ter, Chrissy Lloyd, has gone to Nebraska to be with her birth i mother. Chrissy lived here for many years and graduated from Panguitch High School. |
