Show CMJCMJVIUG tJEVJS By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Thanks to the lovely Spring showers lately, people have already had to mow their lawns, not a usual requisite for early April. The fruit trees are beautiful beauti-ful but so far there is a definite scarcity of bees on the blossoms. blos-soms. Desmond Twitchell spent several days in Garfield Memorial Hospital suffering from pneumonia. He is now regaining his health. We wish him a complete and speedy recovery. It is good to have George and Ada Thompson back in their home and we join them in the hope that their health will be good enough that they can spend the summer here, The LDS Sunday meeting program was presented by the Primary officers and the theme was "The Atonement of the Savior". Talks were given by Linda Britt, Cheryl Scoffield, Tammy Jessen, and Cathy Fletcher. Kalene Lagasse performed per-formed a vocal solo, "When Jesus Comes Again", and the Primary children sang "Easter Hosanna". Many families went on traditional tradi-tional Easter outings and picnics on Saturday. Vaughn and Mae Twitchell and family went to New Harmony and met other family members at the home of Craig and Lee Twitchell. Ed and Kay Dunham and Mathew Walker spent Easter at the Paria movie site where they enjoyed the beauty and the warmth. Gerald and Dawn Stock had a nice Easter weekend. Saturday was spent with Arnell and Iris Burr and on Sunday they went to Escaiante and spent the day with Dawn's brothers , Dell Davis and his wife Jeanie of Escaiante, and Clarence Davis of Cedar City. Kirsten and Alan Stock are grateful for all the help they have been receiving while Kirsten is recovering from back surgery. On LDS Relief Society Enrichment Night, the ladies began working on crocheted hats for humanitarian aid. Each lady has committed to crocheting crochet-ing two hats, a real challenge for those new at the art. Visiting Arnell, Iris and Cory Burr were David and Josh Burr from Roy, Jessica Burr from Cedar City, Dirk and Marcy Burr and children Jordan, Riley, Kale and Courtlynn, Mesa, Ariz.; Pamela Dahl, Queen Creek, Ariz.; and Natalie Chynoweth and children Jessica and Tate, Farmington, N.M. They also visited grandmother Arma Stock and Jeff, Amber and Shelby Stock. Leon Fletcher came from Jerome, Ida., to spend Easter with his parents Larry and Glenna Fletcher. They joined Alma and Anita Fletcher and family for a picnic at Spencer's Flat. Pamela Gajordo, who has spent the past six weeks here with her grandparents Larry and Glenna Flatter, returned with Leon to her home in Salt Lake City. Arthur and Nanette Clarke and five children of Las Vegas visited his parents Jim and Erma Clarke over the Easter holiday and put a new shower in their bathroom. The Clarkes also received word that their daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law Lee and Joan Barney an family, former Cannonville residents, are moving mov-ing from Salt Lake City to Rexburg, Ida., where Lee has a job teaching computers at BYUIdaho. They are excited about the move. Tamra Moss was home for the Easter weekend to spend time with her family, John and Ramona Morreale. The family enjoyed the company of A.C. and Rita Hammer and LaVera Moss for an Easter dinner on Saturday. On Sunday,Ramona took Tamra back to Cedar City and spent Sunday night with daughters Tamra and Cherie. On Monday, Ramona and Tamra attended a session in the St, George LDS Temple and met Cherie for lunch in Cedar City. Ramona stopped in at the rest home in Parowan to visit her cousin Cleopha Henderson who is a patient there. They had a good time reminiscing and had dinner together. She returned home and discovered that everything every-thing had been running smoothly smooth-ly without her and decided she could take off more regularly. Rosemary Fletcher came and took her mother Marva Fletcher to Cedar City and they traveled on down to Henderson, Nev., to spend several days with Marva's son, Rosemary's brother John and his wife Fonda Fletcher whose son Jack was busy with rehearsals for a stageplay in which he has a leading role. |
