Show GSCALMJTu n&'js- By Marlene Haws 826-4859 marlenehcolor-country.net It seems like the hurrier I go the behinder I get lately. No news last week, so I'll try to do better this week! We had typical Easter weather weath-er last weekend, but it didn't seem to slow the -flow of traffic very much. Many friends, relatives, rela-tives, campers, hikers and tourists were in the vicinity. Many Richins and Griffin relatives rel-atives were here just before Easter for the funeral of Mel Richins. Our condolences to that family. It was nice to see all of their kids, grandkids and to meet Mel's brothers, Ward (Ginger) and Mebourne Richins.' Geh'eand Thais Griffin are back from Mesa, Ariz., for the summer and have had all their children here. Delane and Leah Griffin had Val and Ann Haws, St. George. Clayton Carter was here from St. George visiting his grandparents grandpar-ents and mom and dad, Bart and Joy Carter. Lynn and Judy Griffin had their family here. There were many others here, whose names I didn't get; I apologize apol-ogize for that. Shelley Barney went to Roy again to see the grandbabies. Those of Candice and David Shakespear. (She is my neighbor, neigh-bor, but she never calls me to ask if she can go! I always find out after the fact!) Bill and Bev Kuhns and Howard and Sandra Miller went to Las Vegas, Nev., for a change and some rest. I don't think they got much rest and I don't know for sure who ended up with their change! While they were there (See ESCALANTE on pg. 3A) Escalante From Page 2A Bill was able to fulfill one of his lifelong dreams. He went on the "Champ Ride" in an Indi-car and traveled 180 miles per hour for 3 laps! He said it made a kid out of him again. Bev says, "He's 74!" Howard tried to take pictures but said they would probably just be a blurr! And Sandra? 1 hear she came home a little richer than when she went! Cal and Martha Schow had their kids and grandchildren here. Malanie and Dale Robins, Brendon and "Amber Robins, Scipio; and Alan and Nicole Cavalieri, Henderson, Nev. They all went four-wheeling on the desert and had a great time. |
