Show Tropic News By Louise Utt 679-8776 Phyllis and Max Stewart took son Slate to the LDS Missionary Training Center where they met Phyllis' brother Richard Tucker and his wife Dana and their son Bart. Bart and Slate share the same birthdays and are room mates. Richard Tucker is Phyllis brother. Jim and Louise England were in Elko Nev. where they attended an LDS Stake Conference, at which LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley was also in attendance. Jim and Louise sat in front of President Hinckley. Jim is from Elko and was invited back there for the special occasion. Randy Spencer from Long-mont, Long-mont, Colo, stayed at the Kent Wintches overnight, then their son Rhett and his two sons spent the weekend with Rhett's parents. Louise Ott visited with Justin Baugh recently in Cedar City, where she told him about all of the pending marriages. He couldn't believe that the love bug has had so much success here in the valley. Justin said that he will graduate this spring, work for the Forest Service this summer and hopefully go back to school for his masters next year. DelRae and MaKelle Pollock had good news after a visit with the doctor in Mt. Pleasant last week. Royal Alvey is recovering from surgery. Gwen and Ora Brinkerhoff spent Saturday in Beaver with Rosie Hunt getting flowers, Ora is (See Tropic News On Page 5-A) Tropic News From Page 2-A busy moving her rocks again. She's always busy in her yard. Jack Pollock and son Jack William we call him Wid took a day and traveled to Kaibab where there was still snow on the mountain. They went on to Rock House and came home by Lee's Ferry. Wid had never seen the country where Jack had worked and Jack enjoyed seeing the area again. Toni Foster's Mother Mary Lou Neilson was life-flighted to Provo on Sunday night. Then her father Darrel was life-flighted there on Wednesday. Toni was able to bring both home, then left the next day along with Alfred to attend the St. George LDS Temple with daughter Tina prior to her marriage in the Manti Temple. Lillis Francisco was in St. George welcoming a new grandson grand-son Hayden Paul son of Anita and Paul Iverson. Lillis said he is a dandy, and a good baby definitely a keeper. David and Kathryn Pollock have their first grandchild, a girl born to Shawn and Mary Pollock. Kathryn said that she weighed 81bs. 1 1 oz. wih lots and lots of black hair. Her name is Shawnee Older son Trevor and " his wife Jolynn are expecting their baby a week after David and Kathryn meet Sheldon in Cedar City. He is returning home from a successful mission in Hong Kong. Sheldon says that he wants some "vension and taters." Kathryn's brother Kenny Goulding had major surgery at the University of Utah Hospital a week ago. He is improving and hopes to be released from the hospital soon. Gretha Twitchell is still in the care center in Sandy receiving therapy and she is anxious to come home. Jeremy By bee and friends were in Cedar City recently where the Bybees' new van was vandalized. Some one took a tire iron, poked holes in it, and scratched it all around. Kim Hansen and Ferrriland Ruesch took Renon Bybee to Cedar city to get it after it was repaired. Clive and Thelma Bybee have been in Ogden tending Kevan and Kassi's five children while they went back to Virginia where Kevan served his mission. |
